THE BANKER: Robert Forster, the most ruthless actor in the junkyard since the 70s, chases a deranged financial shark through the neon inferno of Los Angeles. The killer is played with wild-eyed conviction by the magnificently repulsive Duncan Regehr, a veteran of genre cinema. The supporting cast includes some cult film faces of yesteryear: Richard Roundtree (SHAFT), Jeff Conaway, Leif Garrett, and erotic starlets like Teri Weigel.

Imagine a film emerging from the depths of American grindhouse madness that looks, sounds, and smells like one of the many nasty B-movie thrillers from the infamous Cannon Studios. A film in which a macho hero has to take down a perverse serial killer who murders with almost cartoonish brutality. THE BANKER is that film. One that, for reasons no one needs to understand, somehow disappeared. Upon its release in 1989, it certainly had its fans, but in Germany, for example, it was only released on video.
